What is Paubha?
Paubha refers to traditional religious paintings of Nepalese Esoteric Buddhism (Nepalese Buddhism/Newar Buddhism) practiced by the Newar people living in Nepal. Under the influence of Hinduism, some paubha paintings also feature Hindu themes.
Paubha is the Nepalese equivalent of Tibetan Buddhist thangka.
Paubha is a Buddhist art form that is quite opposite to thangka. Unlike thangka, which developed guidelines so that anyone could paint it, paubha has no such auxiliary lines.
Only people with painting skills could create paubha, so it gradually became less practiced after reaching its peak around the 15th century.
It has been quietly continued to the present day by some members of the Newar community.

This Paubha has no auxiliary lines. paubha has a characteristic ivy-like pattern.
【One-day Class】Trial lesson.
You can easily learn how to draw a Tibetan-style Buddha's face in just two hours. The fee is $80.（The transfer fee is separate from the tuition fee and is your responsibility.）
【Regular Class】
# Each class is 2 hours long. There are 2 classes per month in total. The total fee is $150.

# The date and time of your lessons are fixed.

ポーバとは？
ポーバはネパールに住むネワール族の信仰するネパール密教(ネパール仏教/ネワール仏教)の伝統的な宗教画のことをポーバと呼びます。ヒンドゥー教の影響を受けヒンドゥーをテーマにしたものを描くこともあります。
チベット仏教のタンカに相当するのがポーバです。
ポーバはタンカとは真逆のような仏画です。誰でも描けるように発達したタンカのような補助線はありません。
描く技術があった人しか描けない仏画だったので１５世紀ごろをピークにだんだん描かれなくなってきました。
ネワール族の一部の人によって細々と現在まで描かれ続けてきました。
神様(仏様)を中心に描き、背後にトラーナを描きます。その隙間を埋めるように抽象的な文様を描きます。
文様は繊細だったり力強く大胆であったりします。隙間を恐れるかのような密度の高い仏画です。
それでいて神様の体や表情はタンカのような補助線ルールが発生する前なのでそれぞれにとても個性豊かな表情を持っています。出版物ではルビンミュージアムから出ている画集があります。
